The VG CR Vasco da Gama 2000–01 home shirt is one of the club’s most iconic designs, celebrated for its timeless black base and the famous white diagonal sash that has become synonymous with Vasco’s identity.

Worn throughout the 2000 and 2001 seasons, the shirt featured a black body with the club’s signature white diagonal stripe running across the front, complemented by subtle detailing and the traditional Maltese Cross crest. Its clean, unmistakable design perfectly embodied one of Brazil’s most historic clubs.

Managed by Joel Santana during much of this period, Vasco’s squad included stars such as Romário, Juninho Pernambucano, Juninho Paulista, Euller, and Hélton.

The shirt is most famously associated with Vasco’s triumph in the Copa Mercosur, where they produced a remarkable comeback from 3–0 down to defeat Palmeiras 4–3 in the second leg of the final, securing one of the greatest victories in South American club football history.
