Sporting CP 01/02 Home

The Puma Sporting CP 2001–02 home shirt is one of the most memorable kits of the club’s modern era, worn during a season that brought major success back to Alvalade.

The shirt featured Sporting’s iconic green and white horizontal stripes, with Puma’s early-2000s styling. The traditional striped design remained instantly recognisable as the shirt of the Leões (Lions) and became associated with one of the club’s greatest generations.

The squad featured legendary players including João Vieira Pinto, Mário Jardel, Ricardo Quaresma, Hugo Viana, and João Moutinho (emerging from the youth ranks).

Managed by László Bölöni, the 2001–02 season was historic as Sporting won the Primeira Liga title and completed a domestic double by lifting the Taça de Portugal.

The shirt is especially remembered as the one worn by Mário Jardel, who scored an incredible number of goals and won the European Golden Shoe that season.
