This shirt captures Manchester United during the first season of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, with David Moyestaking charge after Ferguson’s extraordinary 26-year reign.

The design featured a classic red base with a subtle tonal gingham check pattern across the fabric, inspired by Manchester’s industrial heritage. The black polo collar, matching black detailing and Aon sponsor gave the shirt a smart, understated look, with the Nike Swoosh and United crest completing the design.

The 2013/14 squad included Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Juan Mata, Adnan Januzaj, Shinji Kagawa and David de Gea. It was a season of huge transition, with Mata arriving from Chelsea in January and Giggs eventually taking over as interim player-manager.

United finished seventh in the Premier League, their lowest finish of the Premier League era at that point, but the shirt remains closely associated with the end of the Ferguson dynasty and the beginning of a very different chapter at Old Trafford.
