Liverpool 89/91 Kids Away
Iconic Adidas grey Liverpool away shirt featuring the striking geometric diamond pattern and classic Candy sponsor.
The 1989/91 Liverpool away shirt is one of the most recognisable designs of the late 1980s, combining a sophisticated grey base with one of Adidas’ most distinctive patterns of the era. It became especially iconic during the 1989/90 First Division title-winning campaign, the last time Liverpool lifted the English league title before the Premier League era.
The shirt features a light grey body covered with an angular geometric pattern of darker grey diamonds and lines, giving it that unmistakable late-80s Adidas look. The classic Adidas Trefoil, Liverpool crest and Candy sponsor complete the design, while the clean grey colourway makes it feel remarkably modern even today.
And what a Liverpool side wore it. Kenny Dalglish’s champions included John Barnes, Ian Rush, Peter Beardsley, Steve Nicol, Ronnie Whelan, Alan Hansen and Bruce Grobbelaar, with Barnes and Rush among the standout stars of a team that finished top of the First Division in 1989/90.
The shirt therefore carries a huge piece of Liverpool history. It was part of the side that secured the club’s 18th league championship, with the likes of Barnes and Rush turning this understated grey Adidas design into one of the defining shirts of the era.
A true Anfield classic — grey Adidas, Candy, Barnes, Rush and Liverpool’s last First Division title, all wrapped up in one unforgettable piece of late-80s football nostalgia.
