The 1997/98 Inter home shirt used traditional Nerazzurri vertical stripes with a black collar and subtle graphic patterning inside the darker stripes. Umbro supplied the kit and Pirelli provided the unmistakable chest sponsor.

Inter’s squad featured Ronaldo, Javier Zanetti, Diego Simeone, Iván Zamorano, Youri Djorkaeff and Álvaro Recoba. Ronaldo scored 34 goals in all competitions in his debut campaign and Inter finished second in Serie A before defeating Lazio 3–0 in Paris to win the UEFA Cup.
