Berti Vogts’ side featured Jürgen Klinsmann, Matthias Sammer, Andreas Möller, Jürgen Kohler, Stefan Reuter and Oliver Bierhoff. Germany beat hosts England on penalties in the semi-final before Bierhoff scored twice against the Czech Republic in the final, including the tournament’s golden goal, to secure the European title.
