Chelsea 03/05 Kids Away
Iconic Umbro white Chelsea away shirt featuring the distinctive blue and black central stripe and Fly Emirates sponsor.
The Chelsea 2003/05 away shirt is a fantastic early-2000s classic, capturing the club right at the beginning of the Abramovich era. Worn as the away shirt in 2003/04 and then as the third shirt in 2004/05, it belongs to the fascinating period when Chelsea were transforming from ambitious Premier League contenders into genuine title challengers.
The design features a clean white base with the shirt’s defining blue and black vertical stripe running down the centre, giving it a distinctive look without losing the simplicity of the white background. A white crew-style collar with blue trim, blue sleeve detailing and the classic Fly Emirates sponsor complete the look, while the early-2000s Chelsea crest and Umbro branding add plenty of retro character.
This is the era of Frank Lampard, John Terry, Claude Makélélé, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Damien Duff and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, with a young Chelsea side developing into one of the most exciting teams in England. The 2003/04 season saw Claudio Ranieri guide Chelsea to second place in the Premier League and the Champions League semi-finals, before José Mourinho arrived in the summer of 2004.
And what followed made the shirt even more special. Mourinho’s 2004/05 Chelsea won the Premier League with a then-record 95 points, conceding just 15 goals, while also lifting the League Cup. It is therefore a shirt associated with the moment Chelsea’s modern golden era truly began.
A brilliant Chelsea turning-point classic — white Umbro, Fly Emirates, Lampard and Terry, with the beginning of Mourinho’s Chelsea greatness written all over it.
