Iconic Nike orange third shirt featuring a bold blue chest band, red and blue detailing and embroidered Barça crest.

This shirt captures Barcelona during the beginning of the Nike era, as Louis van Gaal built a side that would go on to dominate La Liga.

The design featured a striking bright orange base, with a wide blue horizontal band across the chest, edged with fine red detailing. The navy and red V-neck collar, matching sleeve trim and classic Nike branding completed one of Barça’s most distinctive late-90s designs. There was no sponsor, giving the shirt a wonderfully clean look.

The 1998/99 season featured Rivaldo, Luís Figo, Patrick Kluivert, Luis Enrique, Pep Guardiola and a young Xavi, who was beginning to establish himself in the first team. Rivaldo was sensational, scoring 29 goals in all competitionsbefore going on to win the 1999 Ballon d’Or.

Barcelona won La Liga, securing back-to-back league titles under Van Gaal, with the campaign marking the beginning of the club’s memorable first Nike era.
